Set in the beautiful countryside it is an ideal base to explore the local region including the National Park itself with its miles of open rolling moorland, ‘Herriot’ and ‘Heartbeat’ country, local villages and market towns including Pickering and Helmsley, Castle Howard Stately Home and the North York Moors Steam Railway. In addition Yorkshires spectacular Heritage east coast and the wonderful city of York are just a short drive away. Comfortably furnished and equipped with all modern amenities including full size electric cooker, microwave, refrigerator, electric space heater, water heater and colour TV with VCR. An electric toaster, all crockery and cutlery are also provided. Tea towels, dusters and washing up liquid are provided. The main entrance leads into the living area with a lounge, dining and kitchen area, and a large French window with access directly out onto a timber terrace with seating. There are two separate bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with 3 full size bunk beds, and a bathroom with a shower, toilet and washbasin. Electricity is included in the tariff with the exception of the Electric Space Heater which is connected to a pay meter. Duvet covers, sheets and pillow cases are provided but guests are expected to bring their own towels. All beds will be made before the customer arrives and fresh bedding will be provided for a further stay in the chalet. The local village shop is available 6am-9pm for groceries, newspapers and videos. There are two pubs serving good value country food and a post office. Nearby Ampleforth College has a full size olympic swimming pool, a sports centre and squash courts, plus a golf course which is open to visitors on most days and green tickets are available from the village pub. Outdoor table tennis and barbeque are available for guests use. Pets are welcome provided they are kept on a lead and not left unattended in the chalet.
